Welcome and thank you for visiting A Part of Speech!
I’m Naomi and I have been a Speech Language Pathologist since 2005 when I received my Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northern Arizona University. I achieved my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in 2006. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, which include school based, therapeutic clinic, and center and home-based early intervention. I’m most excited about early speech and language development, play-based intervention, and literacy development and intervention.
I reside in my home state of New York with my supportive husband, who also works in the educational field, and two daughters (a middle schooler and a preschooler), who are all my inspiration for this site. It has been a blessing and joy to be able to be a stay at home mom these last three years and watch my little one develop and discover the world around her. As a family, you can find us gardening, raising chickens, and just being close to nature. But we do enjoy a good movie night!
Beside speech, I enjoy the yarn arts (crochet and knitting), collecting recipes, reading and discussing characters and plots with my middle schooler who’s an avid reader and writer, and trying new foods and restaurants with my husband.
I hope you will enjoy exploring the site and if any of the activities or information posted work for you, I look forward to hearing about it!
